Fall decorating around the homestead.

I love this time of year. Autumn is my favorite season. I love the colors, the smells, the food, and the cooler crisp weather.

A few weeks ago, I gathered up all my corn stalks into 9 piles and tied them up and stood them up against our shed to dry. People sell these darn things for like 7.00 a bundle around here. I just used mine from the garden. They were going to get thrown away anyway.

I took those stalks and used them to decorate my deck and the flower garden next to the deck. Now that the mums are in full bloom (and there are a ton of blooms on the plants), it looks so pretty.

The beginning of the ramp up the deck I put more stalks and a couple of scarecrows I found at our local craft store.

I love the crow. There is also a bunch of pumpkins around the railings. Two of them are from my garden (the only pumpkins that made it) and the rest are bought. I also have mums planted in each of the window boxes on the deck railings. Now I just need to put my big grill/smoker away for the winter.
